Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. Okay, tried that, didn't help, if anything I am now even more confused. Hence why I'm asking for port number, but I think I have totally confused myself. Right, Windows 10, using software to program an external piece of hardware, it uses usb to connect it but asks for the port number. I cant for love nor money figure out how to find the damn thing. I can't seem to find any numbering in device manager or anywhere else.

Transfer rate definition: Transfer rate is the maximum rate in which the USB device is able to transfer data from one end to another. USB 2. USB 3. Another difference between the different versions is the amount of power they can deliver. What this means is that the newer the port, the more energy it can bring to a connected device.
A device where this is relevant is the external hard drive, as a 3. This enables Type-C cables to charge laptop batteries, and not just phones and tablets.
I do not see them listed in the disk management either. Any idea on how to resolve this would be appreciated. Share Flag. All Answers. Collapse -. Device drivers bad? Back to Software Forum.
